Rust...Take 3

Looking rearward from the passenger compartment toward the transmission. What would expect a Ghia that had been submersed in water to look like after 20 years, give or take? Just like this. Posted by Picasa

Rust...Take 2

Rust and dirt, looking at the body-less pan. Note the automatic tranny servo. Boy, that tire has some tread left on it, that ought to save me some coin. Posted by Picasa

Rust...Take 1

More good stuff, now that the body is off. The package tray, which had been sitting in the leaky garage with the leaky convertible top raining down on it, is completely rusted through. We are in deep doo-doo, it is starting to sink in. Posted by Picasa

Body Off

Okay, first things first. Body off the pan. Let's have real look. Notice the crease above the driver's side rear wheel. A little pouding and hey! good as new. Right! Posted by Picasa

Crushed and Torn

Ah, now for the GOOD Stuff...the passenger side headlight bucket, crushed and torn. Boy, did I have a lot to learn. But can'tcha see the POTENTIAL? Posted by Picasa

Rear View

Yeah, cool hubcaps....but at least the back seat, which would have at least acommodated my oldest son Adam who's peeking in the passenger side door, was intact. Posted by Picasa

First Look 3

Engine bay...all the standard stuff...no! All the Automatic stuff, see the vacuum bottle and such off to the right? Look close and you'll see the ubiquitous rot where the battery would go, on the left. Posted by Picasa

First Look 2

Some of the plusses of this car...yeah, right....it had a fire extinguisher...and a leather steering wheel cover...adding much value to the car. Posted by Picasa

First Look 1

Driver's side pic in my driveway. You can see the rot on the rocker panel, and perhaps you can see that the windshield is cracked. Good choice, Posted by Picasa
